About Lightyear Purchasing & AP

Our Journey

Lightyear is a global Software as a Service (SaaS) business focused on developing and building cutting edge fintech products for Businesses, Accountants and Bookkeepers. 

Lightyear's journey starts with the development of one of the industries longest standing and most trusted AP software, Invitbox, which was developed by brothers Chris & Roger Gregg in 2009 predominately for the hospitality industry.

Despite having a cutting edge product that was revolutionising the AP space, they believed that there were still gaps that they could improve upon for all finance specialists in every industry. 

In 2017 development began on an even greater AP automation solution, and in mid 2018 Lightyear was entering the APAC market. Today Lightyear has more than 20k users globally and offices in both Sydney, Australia and the United Kingdom with our Headquarters in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We are multi-award winners and consistently ranked best in class by Gartner, GetApp, Software Advice, Capterra and many more since 2021. We are also 5* rated by our customers with more than 1000 reviews across multiple review sites including  app stores like Xero, Sage, Netsuite & MYOB.

Our Payables & Procurement Platform is now available in more than 40 countries across the North America, EMEA and APAC regions.

Getting to know us...

We are…. A global team of 50 people, with plans to double later this year. 

We believe that it’s the people behind our product that make us different. We’re people focused and customer-centric. As a business, we consider our Strategic Partners and customers to be part of our team too. 

When you choose Lightyear to help your customers streamline their AP Process, you may work with a wide variety of people who are all here to support you on your journey to financial automation.  We want you to know who some of these people are... from the people who make your onboarding process as smooth as possible, to the people who manage your partnership with us.

We have two offices: one in Belfast, Northern Ireland and one in Sydney, Australia. Our headcount is growing rapidly, but for now, let’s take a closer look at some people in the Belfast Senior Commercial Team.

Chris Gregg

​Founder & Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive of Lightyear, Chris is responsible for the overall success of the business. Chris has over ten years' experience in the Fintech sector. He has led successful teams in fast paced startup environments and corporate Fortune 500 companies in APAC, North America and Europe. Chris was part of the founding team at Invitbox (purchased by Intuit in 2014) where he led an award winning sales and marketing team.

An active mentor and supporter of tech start-ups, Chris has a passion for new and innovative technologies and is most at home hustling and building great teams and products. 

Roger Gregg

​Founder & President

Roger's training in accounting and computer science, along with over twenty years experience in manufacturing and hospitality sectors, led him to founding his first tech start up, Invitbox, in 2012 (purchased by Intuit in 2014)

Roger remains an active member of the Australian startup scene.

Based in Sydney, Roger's passion for process re-engineering and automation has led him to form Lightyear with Chris, and to build great products to change the world in their own small way.

Stephen Magee

​Chief Technology Officer

Stephen is a highly experienced software development professional.  

Stephen has over 20 years experience designing, developing and implementing software solutions ranging from DOS TSR programs in the early 1990s when screens were mostly green and IDE was spelt "V" "I", through to modern scalable, distributed, fault tolerant software solutions in the utilities sector.

Having previously been one of the first employees in a successful Northern Irish high growth tech start-up, Stephen is well positioned to scale Lightyear's platform.  

Tom Ashman

​Director of Sales

Tom is a successful senior leader with over twenty years experience in sales and operations. More recently Tom has led large teams across sales and service for a leading payments company in Sydney and Dublin. Tom is passionate about delivering the perfect long term solution for customers through a seamless onboarding process and ongoing 'best in class' servicing. Tom also thrives in developing and mentoring sales teams to help them realise their professional and personal goals.

As head of business development Tom is responsible for sales activities across Lightyear's core markets

Candice Lim

​Head of Customer Success

Having came from an account management background, Candice's customer centric approach helps keep her grounded in delivering exceptional customer service and striking the balance in both Service and Sales.

With over seven years industry experience, mostly helping the Top 100 firms in the ANZ accounting industry, Candice leans in on her experience in this space as she develops teams and partnerships to help firms save time and money, and grow their practice.

Kenny Galloway

Head of Strategic Partnerships

Kenny has spent over a decade in business development, customer service and marketing roles. From small technology companies to large corporate organisations, he has helped multiple businesses to succeed in all things customer-focused.

Kenny places Lightyear Partners at the centre of everything and focuses heavily on building close relationships with the people and businesses who choose to work so closely with us. As a leader, Kenny takes a supportive, hands-on approach and endeavours to create a company culture that enables those around him to grow. 

Outside of work, you can catch him listening to a good business podcast or audiobook (be prepared for the recommendations), spending time with his young family or seeking that next buzz through surfing, skydiving or anything else that gets the blood flowing.

Rebecca Coulter

Head of Inside Sales and Onboarding

Rebecca has been with Lightyear since its early days and has experience working with businesses from all different sectors ranging from small to large enterprise organisations and accounting firms. She is passionate about helping companies utilise technology to streamline their Accounts Payable and order process, so they can save time and money, to focus on doing what they do best.

Rebecca and her team always try to enable their customers to think outside the box, to adapt new technology where it makes sense and continue to grow and develop in an ever-changing world.

Outside of work you can catch Rebecca hiking, cooking and spending time with her family & friends. She has a passion for animals, the outdoors and is a massive foodie.

Gavin Turtle

Head of Customer Success at Lightyear

Gavin began his journey at Lightyear as a data mapping specialist back in 2019. He has since grown to become Head of Customer Success, demonstrating both strong leadership and customer service skills. 

A creative at heart, Gavin always finds a solution for clients and is passionate about ensuring that Lightyear customers have the best experience possible with our product. Outside of the office (and inside on his lunch breaks), Gavin can often be found with his head in a book. As a film and theatre lover, Gavin enjoys writing plays and getting involved in the local arts scene here in Belfast.

Eve Watton

Partner Marketing Executive

Eve comes from a background in sales and marketing, more recently gaining experience in the world of SaaS before joining Lightyear.

Eve is a specialist in B2B Marketing, covering: content creation, video and events with/for our partners. Eve is passionate about business, particularly the value and benefits of alignment between marketing and sales teams, something Lightyear offers in abundance, internally and with our partners. When it comes to Lightyear and our partners Eve believes in meaningful and outcome-focused relationships, best achieved through co-marketing and collaborative opportunities.

As an English Literature and Spanish Graduate, creating written content is what she enjoys most! Outside of work, Eve enjoys yoga, going on long walks with her dog and travelling to new places.

Jamie Stewart

Partner Account Manager UK&I

With over half a decade of sales and customer management experience, Jamie plays a key role in ensuring that Lightyear Partners are supported and nurtured throughout their partnership journey.  As an avid learner, Jamie has gained a Diploma in Investment Advising and is currently pursuing his AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting, ensuring our partners and their customers are in safe hands.

Outside of work, Jamie is a massive rugby fan. When he’s not spending time with his partner and young children, he also enjoys listening to podcasts and reading up on all things finance and business related.
